  1. 'Pretend to Be' is our latest film and for me-our best one. As a director I cannot say that it was extremely hard to shoot but the editing required much more attention than our previous productions.
I liked the script from the very beginning and I had clear idea what I want to achieve while shooting it. We shot the scenes from a wide variety of camera angles. Half of the takes are not included in the final cut at all.
'Pretend to Be' takes the audience to a journey that shows us the whole life of an imaginary friend. We can see all the stages of the relationship between the clown and it's imaginary friend. The film is also very symbolic. The clown is surrounded by balloons but there is just one balloon that the clown cannot live without. Also the colorful clown and balloons contrast to the whiteness and amptyness of the room. The smiling balloon is yellow symbolizing life and happyness while the balloon that appears at the end when the clown is already dead is sad and red simbolizing blood, guilt, anger and sin. Sin because the clown hangs itself. The editing was quite hard because of the large amound of shots and little time that we had but I think we did it excellently. The image is in perfect connection with the soundtrack. What I think while watching the film now is that we could have left it completely silent- without any ambient sound. I think that could have made the film even more powerful.
As a whole I am very satisfied with the final result and I think that this is our only film that can be considered as a very good short film.
