  1. I've watched your film several times, so now I can produce a fully subjective opinion, pointing what I thought was good, and what was quite annoying.

    1. Firstly, I found actors play a bit woody. I dont know if this is a matter of their actors' skill level, or mayby the atmosphere on set wasn't encouraging for playing well?
    2. I did believed although in this whole situation - someone stealing others meal in students apartment. Also the characters were clearly made and i found them generally interesting.
    3. Considering camera work, some shots are quite nice (fighting on way to fridge) but still some of them a bit irritaiting for me (especially this one in the beginning with bad guy looking at cookie and taking it, or this walk to the glass with milk, where we cant see the glass, but the camera goes down "to it"). Of course the "set" was probably a horror for the operator, so mayby you shall choose more spacious places?
    4. Also I think you should use more "creative" angles, from strange positions/places.

Oh, that was a lot of criticism. :D In general I think that this was a good short, taking under consideration circumstances in which it was made. I believe that each subsequent film made under the banner of Penumbra Pic. will be better and better, as you will inntegrate with each other. Can't wait to see next PPProduction! :)

P.S.: I wonder what would poor children from Africa said about this story... Hahaha! /evil laugh/ :D

    1. Dear Mateusz (I guessed right, didn't I?:P),

Had we been given slightly more than 2 hours of filming and had we scoured for location more thoroughly/hadn't had any limitations concerning the location (everything had to be filmed on campus), we wouldn't have had to limit our script/adapt it to that little time and so wouldn't have made those slight mistakes. What we heard from our lecturers during the debrief (or whatever it's called) is that:
      1. the actors were brilliant and you could identify with them (thanks to quite frequent close-ups, their performance and so on)
      2. the audience responded to the film just as we envisaged
      3. the set was a horror to me, indeed, for I thought that the kitchen where we filmed would be more spacious and arranged in a different way (as in our blocks of the same type of the Halls) so that I'd have more space to move around and so take different shots. Also bear in mind time limits
      4. in comparison to other groups, we were extremely creative with the shots. And I do think that we did exceptionally well given all the limitations.

I'm used to your criticism, though it's still less touching than if we'd shown it to Pan Piotr:P. And it's been the best of our films so far, so probably that's going to be the one we'll choose for assessment. However, once everyone reads your comment, we'll definitely bear your words in mind and so improve our works.

Thanks again for your comment and am looking forward to seeing more of them!

  2. thank you so for your criticism! it's lovely to know that someone is actually watching and thinking about what we did wrong.

as director of this film I would like to say that we knew that we won't be able to do everything perfect. main reason - lack of the time. two hours to film everything good isn't enough. unless you prepare for filming very well. what we are trying to learn I think so.
about the actors. I think that non of us haven't got any real acting experience (I did drama few years, but that doesn't change anything) so that was the main problem about 'woody' acting. forgive that :) we'll try to do better next time.
camera work also has an excuse. we did pay to much attention for the beginning of the film so we run out of the time so we had to film the end very quickly. so we cardinally change the script and did that in the easier way.
and all the creative angle you'll see in the process of the filming. because we're getting better and better!

    best wishes, Egle!
thanks again for you critic. I appreciate it!
